This petite courtyard garden based in the heart of Rye was in desperate need of attention.  An extensive build in an adjoining property had left the external space overgrown, compacted and damp. 

The scheme sought to maintain the existing levels within the space whilst subtly creating two very distinct areas which served both the family and visiting holiday guests.  The clients' budget was limited and so the design embraced much of the existing site character and utilised it to its advantage.  

An artificial lawn was laid to serve the younger members of the family whilst an extensive planting bed gently softed the harsh rendered courtyard walls and indulged the client's desire for 'natural greening'.
